What is now a beautiful colonial-style hotel was once a fort. With foundations dating back to 1627, the hotel is within walking distance of the A-Ma Temple, the Maritime Museum and the Gate of Understanding. Ornately carved furniture and tiles decorating the walls certainly bring to mind Portugal, and most rooms have a balcony overlooking the garden and the vistas beyond. Portuguese, Macanese and international cuisines are served in the two hotel restaurants, and there is a lounge for drinks and cocktails.
