We loved it My family and I enjoyed this small hotel from the time we arrived. The people make this a very friendly place. From the waiters to the maids, everybody was nice. The resort is older but clean. We saw bad reviews on other websites but we were very happy with Club Land'or. We loved the beach which is just a little walk away through Atlantis. LOts of activities so we didn't just sit around. We felt safe with little children at this resort because its small. We will come back and bring more family. Would you recommend this to a friend? Don't Know
Why? / Why Not? Friendly people and the location is one of a kind

Don't Listen to the Whiners! This place has been around longer than anybody, so they must be doing something right. I was here during Rita and saw what "tropical storm" rains do. I know that insurance won't pay for hurricane damage if the winds aren't strong enough, even though it rains like crazy. Anyway, my family loves this place because it's NOT Atlantis but is right next door. You can do all that stuff then come back and RELAX. We pay A LOT less to stay here than Atlantis and the service is five times better! The Blue Lagoon Restaurant is excellent and they don't push you like the other guys. Land'or isn't the Ritz, but it's great for my family! Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes
Why? / Why Not? Best service on Paradise Island, lots of activities, restaurant has great FRESH seafood!
loved it The Club Land'Or is beautiful and the staff is so friendly. The only 5 star restaurant was totally awesome! We ate breakfast in bed each morning - still hot and dinner was wonderful. Lobster Thermador and cherries jubilee just a couple of their great meals. Perfect place for a restful vacation. We truly enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to go back.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Nov 20 2009 Still Fine for Us As an owner at Club Land’or for several years, I was shocked to join this site and see all the negativity surrounding what we consider our second home in the Caribbean. Twenty three negative comments are really insignificant, since thousands have stayed here without complaining online. For the twenty three comments , I would like to respond. I get a kick out of those who complain about a musty smell, when it’s on a tropical island with high humidity, duh. Have you been in Cancun lately? We just got back and saw that the place has just been painted. Our unit had new kitchen ware and bedcovers. I see that people like to complain about fees. Do they pay hotel taxes in Orlando or Vegas or Branson? Look at the nightly fees Atlantis charges for a hotel room. That doesn’t include any activities, and you have to admit, , Land’or has the friendliest staff you’ll ever meet and the most activities of any vacation ownership resort on the island. Also, I know that the dues there are around 30% less than other Paradise Island resorts. And I don’t know what the fuss is about increased fees. I know from talking with other owners that they’ve had a total of five assessments over thirty years and they give me a bonus week or benefits for this that exceed the value of the assessment. Where am losing? I’m a 50+ year old college graduate with a family who loves the resort and I don’t see where we’re going with these comments. In my business I travel a lot and I don’t see anything that compares to the value I get here. In these economic times, resorts everywhere are passing assessments for $1500 -3000, according to friends who own timeshare elsewhere. I don’t know about trading my week cos we always come back. Bottom line, I like the place and love the people and atmosphere. Our kids loved it and we continue to.
Reviewed by: JW from on Oct 28 2009 Yes, Legal Action -- count me in We got suckered in too years ago. Although our one and only visit to the resort was not bad (the customer service was actually pretty good), I agree that the units are VERY small and need updating and the meal plans cost a small fortune. But my biggest problems are the fees - regular and "special" fees. They are ridiculously exorbitant and just keep going up with NOTHING to show for the monies collected. Please contact me about any legal action planned or taken at cjpedmunds@yahoo.com

Reviewed by: SamikaD from on Sep 10 2009 A real disappointment!!! I purchased my timeshare back in 1998, My first visit was disappointing. Facilities were not what had been shown to me in the promotion. Rooms were small and smelly. I have attempted to make exchanges which took months and I never got what I wanted. The fees have skyrocketed. The only reason I have kept it is to save my credit. I am interested in partnering with other owners to challenge the high maintenance fees. I have attempted to sale it with to no avail due to the expense to maintaining it.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 14 2009 Don't get scammed This place was, as others have written, dirty, small and very expensive. We unfortunately purchased a timeshare here and have regretted it. The fees keep going up and up, the corporation nickels and dimes the timeshare holders for everything. If you go somewhere else for an exchange (i.e., Orlando) you get the cheapest, dirty, crappy condo imaginable. The company is only concerned with getting your money, NOT with accomodating their clients.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 11 2009 Vacationers Beware!!!! I will never recommend this hotel to anyone. The front desk was awful, and you'd think they would be the ones on top of everything. The front desk could not handle wake up calls, told us we didn't need reservations for a certain restaurant we wanted to go to, we get there, and you do in fact need a reservation.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jul 31 2009 Yes, let's take legal action I would like the join the other VA owners and take action regarding the extra ordinary bills and charges that seem to be coming every other month. How can we connect?
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jul 18 2009 Would like to take legal action also! I bought there in 2004, was shown a very nice room with the promise that rebuilding of an all new facility was due to start soon. Unfortunately, upon my return to actually use the facility, I had to get my room changed twice and after dealing with extreme rudeness from sales manager, finally was placed in a decent room. Almost five years later, still no new building and special assessment fees are a serious ripoff. This place needs to have a class action suit lodged against it as it is my understanding that many of the "owners" are quite dissatisfied. This place is a waste of my money. Would not recommend it. Only want to protect my credit and deposit my weeks in RCI to use somewhere else! I feel like I've been scammed.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on May 22 2009 A cheap motel Best things about resort Proximity to Atlantis. If you buy the Atlantis beach pass for $140 dollars you will be able to use the pools, restaurants, movie theaters and most amenities at Atlantis. The beach tour is nice, it is not a private island but it is nice to get away, and the food and drinks were nice and the on board photographer does a nice set of photos for $50. The staff do their best with what they have. They admit they know you have seen nicer units. There were many other Canadians their when we were, all the other guests were friendly. The resort is small enough that you do meet other people.
