Noy Impressed at all !!
Ive been to other zoo's St.louis, phoenix, even this one before they moved it from cheahtam co.it was so much better at the other location, and according other people ive talked to its under construction every year with no real change, few animals for the price to say the least,no gorrillas,lions,bears,rhinos...i could go on and on so that should tell you.we will not be going back.but the animals that were there looked content and had plenty of room,if you could see them do to the fact the viewing areas were really small.

Loved it Loved it Loved it
I loved this zoo. The animals were well cared for and the park was clean. We took our own lunch and had a picnic. The playground was AMAZING and my two year old loved the carousel. We will go again if we are ever in Nashville

Wear walking shoes!!!
I loved how there were things for people of all ages. Just be prepared to wear walking shoes. They really isnt an easy way to get to each spot without walking and sometimes walking up a hill. In the summertime bring lots of water, especially for little ones, there isnt much shade. There is a house on the grounds is the origonal owners of the property were the zoo is located. On certain days and times you can tour it as well. Other wise you can peak in the windows and walk around the grounds, its very interesting. There is a cool place for young ones to play, its kinda like a huge tree house and one area has plastic mats that they can run and jump on. The petting zoo is a neat experiance for the children too. The gift shops are nice and the restuants are desant, but a bit expencive, I quess that is to be expected. There are MANY different animals to enjoy. But in the end it is fun for the whole family.

A good zoo to visit
The Nashville Zoo is a nice little zoo. It is currently undergoing expansion, so in the next few years, it won't be a little zoo anymore. It seems that, though the zoo itself is on the small side right now, they have given great thought to and put a lot of money into the animal exhibits. The exhibits are spatious and beautifully landscaped to simulate the natural environment of the animal. The flow of the zoo is "off" due to the construction going on, so it takes a little more time to get between most of the zoo and the African/ Grassmere Historic Farm exhibits.

Great Things are Happening!
Nashville is blessed with great and growing Zoo. It is very manageable, walkable, educational and fun. Our family's favorite portion is the Bamboo Forest, which has an amazing atmosphere and some wonderful species. The Meerkats are a lot of fun to watch as well (Timon from the Lion King).

Total disappointment!
I've been to a handful of zoos before, and the Nashville Zoo has disappointed me the most. I read the other comments on here before I left to visit the zoo and I should have listened, stayed home and saved my money. Nashville is such a booming town, and to have a zoo like this is pitiful. I don't see how they can charge $13 per person... The only thing we liked at this zoo was the Meerkat exhibit - there is a glass fence so little children can see the animals well and the Meerkats are very curious and run by you many times.

Horrible!
The only good thing about these Nashville Zoo at Grassmere is the playground- which you're better off going to Two Rivers park near the wave country anyway. There aren't even any animals except for the occasional bird!

Not what I expected
This zoo is spread out, but has very few large animals. There are no apes, gorillas, rhinos, lions, polar bears, bears, etc.
