absolute hell!
this place was horrible. the water park cost 24 bucks a peice plus 5 for a tiny locker with 5 dollar deposit. there was trash all around the inside of the park. i was informed that they tested their music city racer slide with an 85 pound bag of concrete, but you have to weigh 110 to ride. if there were to be an accident your life or kids life is in the hands of 15 year olds (no offense) on busy days expect to wait about 40 minutes per slide if not longer. the pools are filled up with people no room to really swim. we watched them pour multiple gallons of gas on a small bundle of sticks to get it lit on fire. on that note they also created a fire on a barge which we were informed they had no permit for. the place is a very unsafe place not just for kids but for adults as well. the only upside was the river boat cruise the captian was nice and it got me away from the place for 20 or 30 minutes

Boat Rentals at Nashville Shores
Be cautious about renting equipment from Nashville Boat Rentals! We rented a pontoon boat and was sent out with defective equipment. Namely the ladder that we were to use to get back onto the boat. We could barely get out children back in after jumping in the lake, the ladder was pulling out of its mount. Additionally, the boat barely moved, its maximum speed was so slow. Other pontoon boats from other rental places were buzzing by us; it became obvious that this boat was very old after we were out on the water. The upholstery was mildewed and torn. All of this was brought to the rental operations manager/owner and nothing was done to credit our very expensive rental fee. They were totally unsympathetic to our concerns of safety with the ladder. During orientation we received indications that will indicate that this boat was sound; if you are unfortunate enough to decide to rent from this organization, be vigilant in your inspection. I have been a boater all of my life and this was the most poorly maintained boat I have ever been on.

Heath Hazard!
Nashville Shores was too crowded with too few lifegaurds on duty. After being there a short time a worker came up and explained that if we wanted to ride on any of the slides we'd better hurry as a group of 2500 people would be arriving on busses shortly. It was ALREADY too crowded. BUT THE WORST part was watching several babies under about a year old in the baby pool with NO DIAPERS and no one from the park even noticed. When I complained about this and explained that there appeared to be fecal matter in the pool were these babies had been playing and that the adults with these babies suddenly left the park - the management (and I use this term lightly as they all seemed soooo young) said they didn't see anything by the time they got to the pool and anyway "the pool skimmers would take care of it". They even threatened to throw me out of the park if I told anyone what I had seen!

Fond Memories
My husband and I took the children to hear the Beach Boys in Concert; supposedly to share our music with them but more to enjoy it ourselves on a nostalgic trip to our youth. The day was sunny, but not too hot, crowded with lots of "us" and enough of the young people to make it more fun. We were close to the beach and got an occasional breeze of Percy Priest reservoir. We lazed on our blanket, listened to the music, and when it came time to pack up, there wasn't the enormous jam at the gates to leave.
