In the heart of San Diego's Asian business district, restaurants here face tough competition and a clientèle who knows the food. Jasmine Seafood Restaurant easily outdoes its competition and keeps its largely Asian client base coming back for more. Dozens of brunch time Dim Sum items delight the palate, and the live seafood is as fresh as it can get. The restaurant also offers traditional Chinese dishes, many reflecting the Hong Kong/Guangdong origins of the owners.NYC Best Hotel Deals: 50% Savings In New York! My favorite Chinese restaurant in SD - I prefer it over the other Cantonese restaurants for it's dinner menu variety and consistency. One tip - dim sum here is a zoo (in true HK fashion) so we *always* eat no later than 11:15am, and Sunday's selection seems to have the most variety. For dinner, I highly recommend their dong gua soup, and ask for the smaller regional cuisine menu that's got some great non-standard dishes! It's all about the food.

The food is consistently prepared top notch and, while pricey, you get much larger portions than other similar restaurants. The experience is authentic, hustle, bustle, and all.
