Chateau de Beaulieu
2009-01-01 to 2009-12-31 Beautiful and priceless paintings adorn the walls of a large living room, which is a part of Chateau de Beaulieu. This permanent exhibition hosts about seven oil paintings that date back to the 16th and 17th centuries. Some of these paintings are done by the much-acclaimed painter Antoine Watteau. Next to the Cathedral, the historical museum is housed in the former bishops' palace. The permanent collection depicts Lausanne through the ages, with a rich variety of images and relics from the past. Notably there is a splendid small-scale model showing Lausanne as it was at the start of the 17th century. Other small permanent collections (like old musical instruments) appear next to the temporary exhibitions.
