One of few surviving architectural footprints in Malacca left behind by British colonization, the Queen Victoria's fountain hailed from the Empires high noon. Like the Clock Tower in Penang, another Straits Settlements colony, this fountain was a monument built to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee. Completed in 1901, Her Majesty's fountain is still functioning today, providing an irresistible backdrop for tourist photography in the Dutch Square, and serving as a natural marketplace for rickshaw riders offering their services.NYC Best Hotel Deals: 50% Savings In New York!
