The café Katzung is situated in the old town's Katzung building, which is about 500 years old. This is one of Innsbruck's oldest coffee houses, and it feels like this long tradition has settled and nestled for all eternity in the upholstery of the soft chairs at the small tables. Rumour has it that there are some people in this world who cannot grasp the idea behind lingering in a coffee house for hours, drowsily leafing through some newspapers while nipping at one single cup of coffee ... in case they would want to learn about this crucial element of Austrian culture, they could come here.
