The room was great (Grand de luxe on the 16th floor) and very spacious (53 m2). Very hospitable staff and excellent service. Free wireless internet and use of mobile phone, wich became real usefull in situations with miscommunicating taxidrivers. The buffets were extensive and very good. After a day in busy downtown it was very relaxing to be back in the Shilla which is built in a green and luscious park. The medical staff was very helpfull (on daily basis) after my husband experienced a small injury (free of charge!!). During our next visit to Seoul we'll stay at The Shilla again for sure!!

I stayed there actually last winter in November at one of the standard room. I opted not to upgrade which was big mistake since the room was really outdated and stains all over the carpet and the bathroom looked like from the 60's. The lobby, restaurants have gone through major facelift but the rooms were horrible. Most hotel rooms in Seoul are fairly standard for that matter.

the pool is so cool and the totoly awsome relaxing gardens the service is tottaly amazingive been to many south korean hotels and this is the best one ive been to!

nothing to dislike except that i was stopped in taking pictures of the display windows on the basement where the designers are displaying and selling their goods. as far as i am concern if they display it then the public can take pictures of them.

I used to stay at the Shilla each time I was in Seoul on business. I was told that it was run by the Samsung group not so much for profit, but as the hotel where they treat their guests. Service is excellent and they are always very nice to me. A Korean mobile phone is provided for guests.

I stayed at The Shilla for a week with my family. Room, food, and the other facilities are all great. All of the staff are polite and speak English very well.

Even though the hotel is a local, it is the best. It's good to go to Guerlian SPA or outdoor pool. Food is great too. Big shopping town is near and very cheap...
