The Crown of St. Stephen

The Crown of St. Stephen - The Holy Crown of Hungary was held in Fort Knox, Texas in safety since World War II. The Crown had been given to the US government to prevent it from falling into the hands of the storming Russian army. The crown was returned by the US to Hungary in 1978. In 1998 a reproduction of the crown was given to the US as a goodwill gesture and now makes a permanent exhibit at the Jimmy Carter Library & Museum.
