Nice Hotel
We stayed the first two nights in Chiang Mai at the Amari Rincome hotel and then transfered to the Orchid Hotel. The rooms at the Orchid were nicer and cheaper. The people were much friendlier and overall I enjoyed staying there and you couldn't beat the price $US60/night.

Not impressed
Location is great. Smelly, dusty, moldy rooms. Carpet is infested with dust and other unpleasant material. Breakfast is extremely poor. Staff hardly smiles. Lobby is cold and smelly. Cleanliness and hygene are not part of the daily regimen of housekeeping. If you have children, don't even think about a room with a balcony as a child under 7 can easily slip out as there is no barrier for someone there age. I am NOT going back again.

Great service!
We stayed here 3 nights in August 2004. Our room was a bit run-down -like parts of the hotel. It wasn't what we expected from a luxury hotel -but compared to the low price and hotels in the same category -it was great. The facilities were great and the service too. They were very helpful with tour-arrangement and so on. And they even had a free bus in the evening to the nightmarked. The breakfast was really good and the restaurant nice. If you like shopping, there is a great shoppingcenter next door with cheap western food and cloths.
