Yokohama Cosmo World an amusement park on two small islands on Minato Mirai 21's waterfront. One part of Yokohama Cosmo World is adjacent to the Nippon-Maru Memorial Park. The other section is located on a small island that used to be a shipping terminal with old red-brick warehouses. Today the old shipping terminals are home to Yokohama Cosmo World and Yokohama World Porters. And the old red-brick warehouses are in the process of becoming a historic park. Yokohama Cosmo World boasts the world's largest Ferris wheel, called the Cosmo Clock. The giant circle of steel is 100 meters in diameter and gets its name because each of the sixty each pass a fixed point in 1 second, making the Ferris wheel a giant minute clock! The seats on the Ferris wheel are in sixty gondola-style cars that provide a safe perch from which to view the harbor and the Minato Mirai 21 skyline. The length of a ride is seven minutes, and is well worth the typical long lines. Yokohama Cosmo World has a variety of rides and amusements and is a sure bet for fun-loving families and couples. Yokohama Cosmo World is about a fifteen-minute walk from the Sakuragi-cho Station, or you can take the municipal bus from Sakuragi-cho Station, and get off at Pacifico Yokohama bus stop. Admission to the park is free, and the cost of each ride varies from 100 to 600 yen.
