The Werkstatt der Kulturen (cultural workshop) in the multiethnic district of Neukölln is a smaller version of the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (house of world culture) in Tiergarten. With a 200-seat auditorium and a smaller stage in the basement, it is not as big as the Haus der Kulturen der Welt, but the programme is equally varied, with music, theatre, dance and literary readings by writers and artists from all over the world. The annual street festival, the Karneval der Kulturen (carnival of the cultures), is also organised from here.
