Former Prime Minister William Lyon Mackenzie King (1874-1950) is responsible for establishing this 230-hectare estate. The main building on the property is Moorside, which has been turned into a small museum and tearoom. The estate is surrounded by a number of pathways and trails that guide visitors through several gardens, majestic pines and old spruce trees. Close by are the "Ruins," where King assembled a number of granite ruins he collected from Canada and abroad. Admission is CAD 7 per vehicle.
