Summer educational courses, seminars and workshops on a huge variety of subjects attract up to 1000 specialists and 6000 students from all over the country. Spanish language courses for foreigners attract another 1000 students from abroad. The university has grown enormously since its inception as a summer school in 1932. The headquarters are based in the beautiful Magdalena Palace and there are other centers elsewhere in Spain.
