Back to Quicentro Shopping I am going later. For me because i live in Quito (sorry about my english.) it is not very good. The prices are good for Ecuador, but there is practically nothing there. The pay less, talk about pay more!!
Reviewed by: ElizabethS from on Dec 11 2008 Best Jewelry Shopping in the World! I thought this was an incredible mall!! Big enough to find anything you can possibly think off and small enough to be cozy and inviting. I had the best experience while shopping at one of the local Jewelry stores, Joyeria Windsor. I got the most beautiful set of certified emeralds & diamonds for less than $500, I brought it back to the USA to be appraised and the jewelers here where impressed they've never seen emeralds so beautiful!.. The new appraisal for my set $17,600!! Incredible righ?? Ecuador is a beautiful country, we had the best time of our lives. Definetely reccomend this mal!!!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Feb 25 2006 Elegant Quicentro This mall is the most posh and high-class mall in Quito. More of a place to see and be seen at & a hang-out spot rather than to shop at the expensive stores which are out of pricerange for most average Ecuadorians. The food court is delicious!
Reviewed by: Juan Carlos from on Dec 03 2005 Quicentro Window shopping in Quito is just that. You go to be seen and to see, and that is exactly what goes on at Quicentro. Not all cultures are the same, so if in Sydney you actually go shopping at the mall it's because we are like that, in Ecuador its different. It has everything you need if your pocket can afford it. Ecuador has a poor economy so obviously most things are expensive and most times more expensive than what they are in USA or other latino countries. I'm from Sydney,Australia and now I live in Washington DC, and I find Quito extremely expensive but that is because of the economy. You cannot compare apples with oranges. Quicentro is a cool place for teenagers and adults and is packed to the rafters on weekends. The food court is small but good. We always ate cebiches (Ecuadorian cebiche is the best in the world) and we also always ate at a place that sold juicy steaks on wooden cutting boards as the plate. I can't remember the name though of the place.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Mar 19 2005 The Hip/Clothes Mall Quicentro Shopping, is THE clothing mall of Quito, as no other mall offers anywhere near the variety (and designer labels) of clothes. The problem is pricing, you can probably find the same clothes for less in every other Latin-American country. The mall is located in a very central position in the city, next to the modern financial/business district of Quito, which basically assures that the food court will always be crowded, and halls will be crowded on weekends. Overall this is considered the hippest mall in the city, as if somehow being there projects a light of personal betterment on the locals; actual shopping (other than at the food court) seems rare other than at Christmas.
