Mount Juliet House was built over 200 years ago for the Earl of Carrick and has managed to maintain a sense of 18th-century splendour about it to this day. Not surprisingly, there is a strong emphasis on outdoor pursuits at this hotel, which has its own famous 18-hole golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus. You can also enjoy archery and clay target shooting in the nearby woods or engage in some salmon fishing in the River Nore or its tributary, the King's River. When you get tired of outdoor pursuits, there is always the fully-equipped leisure centre to try out. If all that sounds a little too much, however, you can relax in the Spike Bar, the President's Bar or Kendall's Restaurant.
