Back to Wyndham Nassau Resort Love the Bahamas, not this hotel! The only thing I can say was good about this hotel was the room and the view. That was it, the room was big and bed was nice, and we could see the ocean. But that is where it ended. The Staff, except for a select few, were rude beyond measure. If you tried to double check something, such as your check out time, they will just give you attitude back or say, "Were you not listening to me mon!" Which is exactly what I was told to the very word. They will charge you for everything that comes your way. Lets say you want to get something from the little so called mini-mart, they add 15% gratuity there! Why am I tipping the person I am simply buying a soda from? Around the pools, when there was supposed to be a Life Guard, for 5 days that we were there I never once saw a life guard at anytime of the day. Given we did go out, and had somethings to do, I never saw one while we were actually at the hotel, EVER!
Reviewed by: Stephen from on Jul 27 2009 Day Pass for Cruise Passenger's a Hidden Gem My Family of 14 went here when we were in Port (Carnival Fascination). This place was recommended as a good place to take the family for a day pass which included use of pools and the beach at the Wyndham and the Sheraton next door. Price was $40 it also included lunch at the buffet. To my surprise the food at the buffet was very good. We enjoyed our day at the beach and use of the facilities here. It was not crowded. It was during spring break. The college students were on the beach that had dance competitions, very entertaining to say the least. The students were not rowdy at all while we were there. At around six the staff set up a buffet outside on the beach for the hotel guest it looked really nice I would consider going to stay here if I return to the Bahamas.
Reviewed by: StephanieW from on Jun 01 2009 BEWARE: DRUGS & VIOLENCE!!! READ FIRST: We went for our honeymoon (Sept. 1, 2008) We waited 2 extra hours on a reservation that they apparently gave away, even though we made it over 6 months ago. We even called that day to tell them that we would be in later that afternoon (felt like a Seinfield episode). After we finally got a room, which was very spacious room, we ran into multiple drug dealers that worked within the hotel. Now I am speaking as a teacher and a parent... so I would not recommend this hotel to my enemies, let alone friends. But, if you do decide to go, plan on running into rude/druggy Bahamians that only want to rob you when you turn your back. P.S.- Do not go out at night by this hotel... one person at our hotel was stabbed, even though he was with a group of people.
Reviewed by: dave from on Apr 07 2009 Great Place to Stay at! Real beautiful beach and the people there were real humble. Cheap to ride the bus around and plenty of things to do. Would go back gain.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Apr 03 2009 Loved it! The room was very comfortable, nice balcony overlooking the pool area and Carribean, widescreen tv. The staff was VERY friendly. Restaurant selection is great...breakfast buffet yummy! Food and beverage prices are reasonable, unlike the Atlantis. Lots of amenities on site too.

Reviewed by: Chantrell from on Jan 24 2009 We won't be going back We were very disappointed with our vacation! The whole time we were at the Wyndham Monday December 1 - Friday December 5 there was construction going on. The hotel pool was closed so we had to use the pool next door. We were woken up every morning at 8am by the hammering and the fire alarm went off at all times of the day since they were using the fire hose to refill the pool. Nobody cared too much when we told them. The room itself was nice and it was a good thing since we spent most of our time there....not much of a nightlife for young people who don't love to gamble! We visited the Atlantis and were blown away, stay there if you can afford it! The Atlantis was so much nicer and there were way more things to do. The Wyndham is just too run down.
Reviewed by: Meag from on Dec 16 2008 DONT GO! Had a beautiful view of the condoms and beer cans on the roof below our balcony. Room was filthy and uncleaned from previous guest when we got there. There was lipstick on my wifes cup in the hotels restaurant. We asked for a clean one but it looked like all the waitress did was smear it with a cloth. We asked for extra pillows on the 1st night and got them on the 5th night. We went to 6 different restaraunts on the island and the services was deplorable everywhere. I attribute this to the required 18% gratuity being included on your bill whether you liked the service or not. There is no incentive for customer satisfaction when they know they'll get paid not matter what. The hotels beach property had slimy algae collected in its alcove. Gross! Go to Puerto Rico instead cheaper, nicer and an American territory.
Reviewed by: Samuel M from on Dec 15 2008 Just Say Yes To This Great Place! The beachfront location is absolutely gorgeous. A large palm grove with hammocks provides shade for sun weary travelers, and the white sand beach with ample lounge chairs provides lots of sun for those who are sun hungry. Picturesque--like something right out of a Corona commercial. The staff was bend-over-backwards friendly. Recent updates to the pool and rooms are classy and in good taste--granite countertops in bathrooms, flat screen televisions, nice bedding. Great value because the lobby and common areas are retro-80s, but how much time you gonna spend in the lobby anyway? We went with four other couples and spent days on the beach. Kayaks, snorkel gear, floats, and deck chairs are all included. Awesome! Everybody was completely relaxed by the time we went home, sad to depart and return home to kids and minivans. Have fun!
Reviewed by: Laura from on Jul 08 2008 Winter getaway The Wyndham is a great alternative to the high cost of Atlantis. The room we had was an ocean veiw suite with a balcony overlooking the blue seas of the Caribean. The cleanlness and service are top notched, The Bahemians might be the friendliest people in the world. several restaurants are available, prices are all on the high end and I would have expected better quality for the price. The Wyndham is full of amentities way too much to list. Several miles from the heart of Nassau its a bit out of the way but taxis run frequently, nothing beats 80 degrees and sunny in the middle of February.
