Cannot fault this hotel
We were here for four nights and really enjoyed the very comfortable stay at Cross Hotel. It is a very stylish and sparkling clean hotel in a great location. The staff were excellent, especially Daisuke san who was ever so pleasant and helpful. I have travelled around the world a fair bit and stayed in 4/5 star hotels in Europe and in my opinion, the Cross Hotel is one of the best and cleanest hotels. I will certainly return to the Cross and absolutely recommend this to anyone who wants a great and comfortable stay surrounded by style and great service. The only negative comment is that the hotel does not organise day tours/trips in Osaka and its neighbouring cities, such as Kyoto which is only an hour or so from Osaka. I guess they have their reasons for not doing this. In short, great hotel, great location, wonderful service and charming staff. Thank you to all the front desk staff for a great stay! Arigato Gozaimasu (sorry if this is wrongly spelt)!

A Great Hotel
We loved this hotel. We arrived late at night from Australia with two children and easily found our way to the hotel from the Nankai-Namba Station. It's easy to get lost in the underground system of shops and trains. Basically you go down to the subway level and follow the yellow numbers to exit 14. Once out of exit 14 turn around and walk towards the oncoming traffic for about 3 minutes. It is right in the centre of all of the shopping and eating action. The hotel itself is super modern and very clean. The reception staff speak a little English. We had two rooms, but maybe there are rooms that will fit four people. Make sure you ask for a non-smoking room if you don't like the smell, because a lot of people smoke in Japan. The bathroom was fantastic, so much room to shower, plenty of hot water, and a deep bath. The toilet is self-flushing or you can push buttons for a wash and blow dry. The only disappointment was that there was no pool. With kids and visiting in Summer, a pool would have been lovely. However, the airconditioning works well. My kids liked the ice dispenser on the floor, and my husband liked the beer dispenser. Television is mostly in Japanese except for the CNN chanel. If you would like to watch movies, put 1000 yen into the dispenser on the floor. That will give you viewing for the check-in time e.g. 2pm - 12pm.

A great find!
The Cross Hotel Osaka is recently renovated and rebranded (was Hotel Riva Nankai and before that Hotel Riva Shinsaibashi - important if you're taking a taxi to the hotel).
