Two hundred years ago, Vendue House was the site of the local slave auctions. The house now serves as a museum of local history and culture, specifically of slave culture and the history of emancipation in the Bahamas. The museum is located in downtown Nassau, approximately a block from the British Colonial Hotel. It's best to call before making a special trip here as the hours of operation are short and subject to change.
