A walk through this heritage building, which chronicles Canada's natural history, will take you back in time to when dinosaurs roamed the landscape and glaciers covered 80 per cent of the country's landmass. Exhibits examine the country's biodiversity, the history of Canada's aboriginal peoples and life in the far north. Check website or call for admission fees and special deals.

National Capital Region Wildlife Festival Mar 1st, 2010 to May 31st, 2010
Ask anyone around the world what they think of Canada and this country's rich natural endowment will most likely come up and for good reason. Some of the most beautiful treasures of nature are here, and this event celebrates this fact. Guided walks, photo exhibits and educational programs make this annual month-long festival memorable. Although Ottawa is an urban area, city, provincial and national officials have ensured that substantial natural habitat is preserved. The Canadian Museum of Nature is a good starting point. Most events are free of charge, though regular museum admission applies. The dates of the 2010 festivals will be announced shortly.
