Back to Swig Martini Bar Great Cigars! This place is great place to stop by for some stogies on the river walk. After going to a failed cigar bar to start a bachelor party, SWIG saved the night by providing some cigars to start the night. I do have to say the bartenders were a little quiet…that or maybe coming from Vegas I expected too much from them. Other than that the place was a great place to stop by and listen to some music and enjoy some stoges!!
Reviewed by: Huggy Bear from on Oct 07 2009 All the right things! This past Saturday night was my first time at Swig... I enjoyed the atmosphere and the very chic and trendy decor. Although this is a cigar bar I didn't even notice any smoke, so don't let that turn you off. Our bartender Jackie was fantastic. I tend to be a very impatient patron. I always take care of the staff but I do expect a very high level of service. Nothing drives me out of a bar more quickly than having to beg for another drink! But even with the extremely busy bar the staff managed a very high level of personal service. We had a great time and will definately be visiting Swig again!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! It is a favorite of mine and, has been, for three years.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Dec 28 2008 Outstanding I tried several martinis, with the Chocolate martini being my favorite. Other places do not compare to this bar. I like the atmosphere altough I could do w/o the smokes, but I suffer through it for the drinks. The price is about in line with martinis and worth it considering the wonderful mixology that goes on to make these drinks. Looking forward to my next visit which should be soon.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Nov 26 2008 Almond Joy I was a little afraid to get a drink in this place because frankly I don't particularly care for the taste of strong alcohol...you might as well just do shots. I told the bartender this...and he suggested I might like an Almond Joy. After the first sip I was hooked....whenever I am in San Antonio this place is high on my list of places to visit...wish I could find the recipe...until I do...I will just have to keep going back.
Reviewed by: AngelaC from on May 14 2008 Planning to go back! I visited Swig a few years ago while on vacation in San Antonio. I tried the Chocolate Martini and was blown away by it! I have since tried MANY chocolate martini's around the country and have not found any the compare to the one at SWIG. I am returning to the River Walk in May and SWIG is definitely on my list! Bartender... get those chocolate martini's ready!
Reviewed by: zeus112999 from on Mar 31 2008 Awesome I was there second week of Feb. Great selection on cigars. Great music and best martinis. The bartenders were great. good customer service. Look foward to going back in august.
Reviewed by: ruru from on Mar 11 2008 Delicious I like the drinks and the company. When they have a live band, it's great. If you are into the tequila martini's, try my husband's favorite...the Red Slipper. I like the sweeter side with the Almond Joy and Rasberry Kiss. The only thing I like more is Swig North.
Reviewed by: Toy Lady from on Jan 25 2008 Ritzy Martini Bar I have fond memories and a empty pocket book of Swig's. I have wanted to return but due to the increase in cost, it has not been on my list of high priorities. If there were at least a reasonable Happy Hour, I may venture out once in a Blue Moon. Overall the Chocolate Martini, St Valentine, and Dirty Martini are never a bad choice. I would save the Scotch and other drink items for a more laid back bar as they are around $15 now from what I hear. I will try to the new Swig's North in hopes of a Happy Hour I can work with.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Dec 19 2007 It's like home! It was awesome! We just moved here from Michigan and are homesick, but SWIG was like our martini bar at home and we LOVE it!
