An over-the-top shrine to Communist-era architecture, the Praha was reserved only for high-ranking Communist Party officials and their guests until 1989. Each simply decorated, low-ceilinged room enjoys an excellent view of the city. A long list of diplomats and performers such as the blues man B. B. King have called this place home while staying in town. As it is a short way out of the center, a car or taxi will usually be required to whisk you into town.
