Fine Art of the Twentieth Century
2009-01-01 to 2009-12-31 at 10:00
Fine Art of the Twentieth Century showcases works by legends like Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Gustav Klimt and also Japanese artists like Yuichi Takahashi and Sotaro Yasui. Landscapes dominate the show at this permanent collection. Bright colors, picturesque places and an artistic mind make these gems. One look at these paintings and even nature would seem lacklustre.

The core of the collection was the 1,460 pieces which were donated by Tatsukichi Fujii in 1955 to the Aichi Prefectural Art Gallery. Included are not only applied arts, but calligraphy, paintings, and Fujii's own work. Since 1988 the museum has had a policy in place to add to the collections with funds and contributions from companies, individuals and associations. The museum's holdings represent an overview of 20th century sculpture and painting, prints, drawings and applied arts. On the 8th floor are several rooms for temporary exhibitions from various art groups. Light refreshments are available in the coffee shop on the 2nd floor.NYC Best Hotel Deals: 50% Savings In New York! Experience New York At It's Finest!JustClickLocal.com
