Located in the stylish Place Vendôme, this exclusive hotel was built in 1898 by Hardouin-Mansart (who designed the Palace of Versailles), and has always attracted a glittering and glamorous clientele. Coco Chanel, creator of the famous brand, and writer Ernest Hemingway were regular guests; the latter is reputed to have said he hoped heaven would be as good as the Ritz!
