No perks period When I got to the hotel I parked in their garage which was VERY hard to navigate through with a truck. I came to check in and that process went fast, and the clerk answered my Questions just fine. Got to the room, and here is where the bad begins. No ironing board for the iron. No coffee for the coffee maker. No remote for the TV, and last but not least, no heat for the room. I called the frontdesk and got the things I asked for quickly, but there was still no heat in the room. The clerk brought up 3 blankets, apologized that they were full, and said that the office manager would be in the next AM to help with any compensation. Upon checkout, she said sorry, and printed my bill? I told her I was VERY unhappy with my stay and she said that she could discount 10% off my stay. A room with no heat, and 10% off? Come on! I told her that wasn't reasonable, and she said, "Sorry" and then asked me to sign my checkout slip. I have disputed all charges with Visa, and hopefully this review will make people run from this hotel. Would you recommend this to a friend? Don't Know
Like a horror movie I will start off by saying I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! I'll tell you about my experience with this place, first off we arrived at the Redick Inn early Saturday morning, as soon as you pull up to this place you know you just got scammed, a tell tale sign is the gang bangers being arrested across the street. So we go to the door and the front desk person had to let us in because they lock the doors at night. We walked into the 1970's style lobby, by that I mean it looks like it was designed and last cleaned in the 1970's. I had booked my room on Tuesday night and I had reserved a "poolside king suite" the front desk clerk handed me a key for the 4th floor, not sure when they started putting pools on the 4th floor? Then we were directed to park in their disgusting, one-lane, 1950's style parking garage where you felt like you were going to be locked in and tortured in this place. Then you walk in and I couldn't help but think that I couldn't see pool and I definitely couldn't smell one over the smell of dead hooker. Then we get to our assigned room and the key they gave us wouldn't work and there was a "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door handle, and we heard mumbling from inside the room, which would imply to me that there was already someone in there. So we returned our key to the front desk and left to find another hotel, which ended up costing me another $200. I felt very unsafe in this place and I'm sure that people don't stay the night here too often, it seems like more of an hourly room kind of place to me. Now it's Thursday and I have been trying to get my money back since Monday and they keep screwing us around and being very rude and unhelpful. I guess you can make your own decision but I would sleep in my car before I stayed in this dump.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jun 14 2009 This place is a dump This place has foam pillows, old beds that are as comfortable as plywood and rooms that allow in a tremendous amount of street noise (so much I found myself wishing I could be back in my quiet NY apartment.) I don't recommend it.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jun 30 2008 Rude, not professional Lets start with one positive. Rates are the lowest in Downtown Omaha. Now, here come the negatives. I came into town during some Gallup conference and all other hotels were filled. I came across this place and decided to see what the rates were. I was greeted by the night auditor, who kept looking me up and down. He kept asking me the same questions, over and over. What I was in town for, what kind of room I wanted, etc. It was like he was flirting with me. By the way, I am a married man, and had my wedding ring on at the time. I got my room, it was outdated, dirty, and smelt weird. I checked out in the AM to find another hotel. The 'office manager' apologized for the auditors rude behavior, and referred me to Magnolia hotel-SO MUCH NICER!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Sep 12 2007 The place was great After reading the reviews prior to my stay, I was a little worried. I checked in and was pleasantly surprised. Yes the hotel is old but they have done a good job of keeping it up. We stayed in a suite and the room was so big I felt like I was in an apartment. No noise, no bugs, none of what the others described in their reviews.
Reviewed by: Joan from on May 05 2007 beautiful. I stayed at the Redick with a large group of students while on a service project tour. There were four girls in my room, and we stayed in a suite on the eleventh floor. I've never seen such a nice hotel suite, and I've stayed in a lot of hotels. Yes, the decor was outdated, but it was beautiful none the less. Our room had a king size bedroom, separate from the spacious living area which included a [comfortable] pull out couch, a desk, a cabinet&television, 2 plush chairs around a table, a counter space with a large mirror, small sink, refridgerator, and coffee maker. Not to mention the view of the city. The bathroom had a double sink and a whirlpool tub. A coat closet was in the entryway to the suite.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Apr 23 2007 Oops. That was the genreal tone of my stay in the Redick. For the location, you can't beat it when you are in town to see a show at the Orpheum. The rooms were clean, but old and dated. Because of the date of the furnature, it makes the room appear dirty.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Mar 11 2007 Be warned! We came to check into the hotel, and were greeted well by the staff who answered all of our questions about local events and attractions quickly and effectively. We got to our room-1 king bed-and were in total shock. The wallpaper was peeling, the bathroom despite looking clean, smelt like sewage. The floors in the lobby area look like they have not ever been cleaned and same with the hallways. The sheets were stained in the room. We moved to another room without any change in the outdated feel. Hey, at least the staff was polite.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Nov 18 2006 Good downtown hotel Can't beat the location for events at the Orpheum Theater. We stayed with an Opera Omaha discount. The room was very spacious, nicely furnished and clean. Huge thick towels and a very comfortable king sized bed which was what I requested. The continental breakfast (which also included hot sausage patties and hot biscuits) was one of the best I have seen at any hotel. There must have been two dozen kinds of rolls/muffins/breads plus ceareal, juice, fruit, toaster waffles etc. The garage is next door but it's an old one and getting a big car in and out takes careful manuevering. But you can't beat the $4 a night parking.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Sep 28 2006 the right choice This was my first trip to Omaha and if I go back I will definitely stay at the Redick again. The manager offered me a complete facility tour on my return. The staff was 100% friendly and helped me when ever I had a question. The hotel its self is amazing. Art-Deco at its best. My room was slightly musty but what can you expect from a 1930s building? This was taken care of by opening the large original windows. Yes, a hotel where you can actually open the windows! The restaurant has been restored back to its glory but is not yet open. Apparently its open for lease. It looks amazing and its a shame the hotel cant operate it. The location couldnt be better. A 2 min walk to the old part of the city that is full of great places to eat and spend your money. I used the shuttle twice a day and it was prompt and the driver was kind and very helpful. I was on business and had the choice of the Redick or the Marriott I made the right choice!
