Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on May 16 2008 Tired property Gorgeous location on the beach, beautiful view of Acapulco Bay, lush and attractive grounds. VERY tired rooms - stained bedskirt, rusted drain in tub, paint splashes on sink and countertop, old furniture, filthy plastic cover on the 'behind the door' info., something black splashed on the headboard and nightstand. VERY noisy on a Sat. night with a wedding in the hotel - band and singing until the wee hours. Coffee shop serves a great breakfast buffet. Excellent bell service.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Feb 06 2008 It was OK If you plan to spend a lot of time in your room do not go to this hotel. The furniture is old, beds are hard as rocks, TV is too far away from the bed, the curtains are old and stained, we also found a roach crawling from underneath the bed. Who knows what else I would have found if I looked underneath the bed. The lightning in the room is not the greatest either and the Wireless Internet did not work for us all 4 days we were there. DO NOT USE THE IN-ROOM SAFE!!!! We put all our stuff in it (Money, Passports, Credit Cards and other valuables...when we came back from the beach we were not able to open it with the code we chose. I went to the Front Desk 3 times and each time I was told that the General Manager is the only one that can open it and that he was not available at the time. Next day we still didn’t hear from the GM. Went to FD again 2 times before somebody finally came up and opened our safe. Talk about frustration. We did not get the room type we wanted but they offered to changed rooms for us the next day. The Check in and Check out process took at least 20-30min. They are very busy and often understaffed, so give yourself plenty of time.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Nov 11 2007 NOT very good, my 2 cents Well, I had to write this review. I travel and stay in a lot of places, so when I booked the Hyatt, for those of you who have stayed at a Hyatt, you know what I was expecting.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on May 09 2007 Great Value/Wonderful View We were just there over spring break. The hotel was clean. The breakfast buffet was worth the money. It's a great place to relax by the pool. If you like to swim laps or claim a specific spot, go in the AM. By 12 it crowded. For a small tip they will bring you an umbrella. Much of the clientele was locals on Easter vacation and they don't seem to understand that they cannot get on the elevator until you get off. When the doors open, people are right in your face trying to get in the already crowded elevator.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Apr 22 2007 Hyatt Regency Acapulco I have stayed at this hotel six times and plan on returning in April 2007. You have to keep in mind its an older hotel but its kept very clean. I have never had a request refused by hotel staff. Also keep in mind its old Mexico, you have mountains and sunsets and what a view at night with all the lights. This is not like the new locations like Cancun( Wisconsin Dells of Mexico), Cobo, or Playa Del Carmen. If new is what you are looking for, try one of those places. This will be my 7th trip there and have never seen it rain like I have in Cancun. The weather is always perfect. Yes, you have to stay away during spring break or Easter. If you are looking to get your backside powdered its not going to happen. Buck up, your in Mexico. Also Judy on Club level is one of the nicest persons I have met in Mexico.
Reviewed by: John H from on Mar 04 2007 we'll always go back here we love this hyatt and all the employees. we love the food, the people, the pool, the location. we've been all over mexico but we've been coming to the hyatt for 5 years now and we are not interested in ever going anywhere else. period!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Feb 03 2007 3 times a charm I have been to acapulco 3 times now, I must say while acapulco in general has declined (cancun is the new kid on the block) the hyatt continuously improves. The rooms are roomy and comfortable (by mexican standards)...if you are expecting Hyatt USA/Europe type rooms forget it...this is a tropical paradise not fantasy island.
