Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Apr 30 2007 Shockingly BAD!!! BEWARE -- Don't stop here!!! First let me say that I'm a loyal La Quinta customer and have had wonderful stays at several other locations mostly in southern CA. That's why this hotel was so apalling. The rooms are shabby, of questionable cleanliness and badly in need of repair with stained upholsery, etc. The grounds are FILTHY and the landscaping pathetic. Teenagers were allwed to monopolize the pool, swimming in their T's and jeans until well after 10 pm. Older males hung out on the 2nd level hooting at passers by and swearling at each other. The surrounding area is not the best and the Denneys a few steps away attracts some questionable characters for their late night fare. The staff was mostly pleasant but one young woman was outright hostile and after I registered a polite complaint (about the preceding) and asked to cancel the remainder of my reservation, she immediately rekeyed my room (without telling me) so that when I returned I had to be escorted by maintenance to retreive my belongings so that I could leave, cutting my trip to Tucson short. Fortunately, one responsible (and more mature) employee took ownership of the situation and coordinated with LQ's excellent corporate customer service to refund the cost of my stay. The only thing I could see that qualified this location as a tier C ('better', more $$) hotel in the LQ chain is that they do have the fresh waffles and wireless Internet. The trade off for decent people and families of any age is NOT WORTH IT!!!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Feb 18 2007 Older Hotel but Spacious Room The hotel is older than I had expected, the room (king size deluxe) was spacious. Overall, it's pretty clean and I will definitely stay there again.
Reviewed by: Marinda from on Oct 10 2005 Could Have Done Better Decent room. Had to ask for replacement comforters in the non-smoking room because the existing ones reeked of smoke. Bathroom not cleaned very well. Pretty good location with shopping and dining nearby (great breakfast place across the street). Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would not return just considering the room, but the staff was good.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jan 23 2005 Won't be returning Checked in and stayed for two nights. After a big day of mountain biking found that the jacuzzi was cold. Called the front desk, was told it would be fixed in the morning. Next morning I asked the front desk about the problem and they acted like they had never heard a thing from anyone. Said it would be fixed. Come that evening, still wasn't fixed. Went the check out the next morning and the desk clerk just ignored my complaint. No apology, nothing. When I asked about a manager was told he wasn't there. When I asked for a business card to call and complain later was told there weren't any. And it was true -- I didn't see a hotel card anywhere.
