Great place for a meeting
I just visited the hotel in November 2007 and loved it! The rooms were great and food was even better. Everybody was friendly and helpful. The location is about 40 minutes from the airport and a 5 minute walk to shopping. I felt very safe while out walking at night. The hotel is on the Pest side (flatter), but not to far from the Buda (hilly) side). All-in-all I can see why this is a 5 star hotel.

Great Hotel, Stiff Service
I love the Kempinski hotel chain and try to stay at one of their hotels whenever I can. I was dissapointed in the Budapest hotel, however. I found the service, particularly at the Concierge, to be lacking and somewhat unpleasant. Although they met dealt with my few requests quickly and efficiently, hotel staffers were just not very nice. The staffers were so uniformly dour that I might have thought that was the Hungarian way had I not been there before. Le Meridian is right next door, and while I prefer the Kempinski's rooms and decor, I would probably recommend Le Meridian -- certainly for business and probably also for vacation.

Fabulous Breakfast Buffet!
I stayed at this hotel several years ago. The breakfast buffet was absolutely fabulous! Eggs, meat, pastries, fruit, even FISH! The orange juice was squeezed from real oranges right there in the dining room.

They Don't Tell The Truth
I arrived at the Kempinski thinking since this was a 5 star hotel the service would be excellent.I was meet by the receptionist, who did not honor the rate quoated to me by this very own site, but because it was the weekend that i checked into the hotel and ran out of clothes, as I had been traveling in Hungry on vacation for a week,I was then charged $280.00 US dollars to do my laundry, 50% more simply because it was the weekend. Who knows, maybe they hire outside help, I am still here on vacation, but looking for another facility to stay at. The building is beauful as are the rooms. But I prefer honesty and integrity.
