Open till the wee hours, Cafe Adriatico is a popular hangout of Manila's cafe set. The decor is a reinterpretation of traditional Philippine home interiors along modern lines—a novel idea when the restaurant first opened in 1980. Also novel at the time, the menu presents a leaner version of Spanish-influenced local fare such as Callos (tripe and chick peas in tomato sauce) and Lengua Estofada (ox tongue in mushroom sauce). The bar is stocked with all kinds of drinks. Chocolate Eh, thick hot chocolate in a demitasse, makes a rich alternative to coffee.
