Not what it is cracked up to be
This was our 1st visit to this restraunt. Our waiter was not very helpful and seemed somewhat rude. We ordered appetizers that arrived after our entrees were brought to the table. We all ordered the Goat Shoulder. There was very little meat on this cut and it took a lot of effort to eat. This restraunt does not take AE cards which is the standard card for most business travelers. They would not give us separate checks which makes filing expense reports very difficult. None of us would recommend this restraunt to others.
Would you recommend this to a friend?
No

Why? / Why Not?
Our waiter was not friendly and seemed rude. The appetizers are brought after the entrees are brought to the table. This restraunt does not except AE cards and will not issue separte checks. The goat shoulders that we ordered did not have very much mea

Bizzare but Wonderful Low-Carb Foods
I went to this restaraunt while on a low-carb diet and found it to be the perfect restaraunt for me. The meat was excellent. The staff was friendly and even invited us into the kitchen to see how they cooked the baby goats. There were a few unusual menu items such as head of a baby goat, fried bloos, and dried shredded meat. Everything that we tried was awesome and if I am ever back in Monterrey, I will definately eat here again!

Viva Monterrey N.L.
El Rey Del Cabrito is a must if you want to try an authentic dish! (BABY GOAT) Their cabrito is awesome with a lot of meat, not dry, quite juicy!!! Cabrito is a must if you are traveling from another country. The service is excellent, and the ambience is quite entertaining! Don't forget to bu your tequila bottle autographed by the owner of the restaurant. This place rocks!!!

Eat a Baby Goat
This place is a must whenever i come to Monterrey. The restaurant is tacky in the same way an old Italian lounge in Jersey is. I only need to eat one and a half more baby goats and I can join the "herd" club. Kidding, but there is something macabre about this place. But it's good... do it.

A Must
If you are in Monterrey, there is no excuse not to go to El Rey... The cabrito is excellent there. This is literally an institution in MTY. Get the recommended appetizers, however; don’t over do it, you need to save room for the cabrito. Also this is you chance to drink what Mexican’s deem top quality beer such as Bohemia, Indio, and Modelo. Skip the Corona, in most cases it is not even served in restaurant and hard to find in the corner markets. Once you have finished a meal there, you will know that your trip was well worth it.
