One of the oldest art spaces in Zurich, the Galerie Walcheturm stages remarkably "young" shows. Set up as a sort of "society," it's more than just commercial - the gallery functions as an art center, where new talents are first shown to the public. Artists include young video and installation artist, Costa Vece, and Basel's psychedelic painter, Lori Hersberger, both of whom took part in the Biennale 1999 in Venice. Austrian concept artist Peter Friedl, and the trash qüen of Switzerland, Susann Walder, who often exhibits work together with her friends from the "Working group Sunshine," are also consistently on display here.
