I must say that anyone even considering to pay such an exhorbitant amount for one night at such a place traditional or not, is dimantled. Though the location was more than transcendant and the service imeccable, the egregious amount simply can't be prevaricated. We were put in a back corner room, near a steamy ventilator, and the view was lavish and vivid with an effulging dreamscape of ochre and umbra laden alleyways under stars and a full moon. The food was incontrovertibly palatable. It galvanized my taste buds and had me begging for toppers even though I was filled to the brim. The lustre of the place was so unctuous, I still can't get over how sedate I felt and hoew tranquil the ambience of the Inn was. I certainly was crazy to pay such a hefty price, but God was is entrancing...

In Kyoto, staying at the Hiiragiya should be considered as important an experience as seeing the temples and historic districts.
