This unique 25-metre waterfall descends from the peaks of the Sierra Madre Oriental and owes its name to the particular shape of its flow, resembling a horse's tail, or cola de caballo. As part of a recreational park, there are grills, tables and all the essentials available for a picnic. The climb to the waterfall area may be made on foot along a river, or by hiring a carriage or horse. The weather is cooler than in the city of Monterrey and most of the vegetation is made up of coniferous trees and others such as walnut trees, poplars, and savine evergreens. This is an ideal place for a nature hike, mountain biking or photo safari to observe the flora and fauna up close.
