okay for a low budget bahamian trip
so perhaps this place is not a 4 star resort but what do you expect for what your paying....my boyfriend and i went for a week together and had a huge room it was nice with a living area and had a great view of the beach...the staff was pretty friendly and the food was limited but okay..the bar inside by the pool table always had just one bartender but the drinks were reasonable...there wasnt much to do around town and you always had to pay to get a cab....i would say it was an okay experience if you dont have much in your budget..

Not so great...
My experience at the Xanadu hotel in the Bahamas was an unforgettable one for sure. It was an interesting adventure that I would have never expected. When we drove into the parking lot upon arrival, we were sure that it was the wrong location. Spring break=crowds, partiers, full place. The place looked like a ghostown with only 6 cars in the parking lot but a friendly man waving us in. This was NOTHING like our past resorts. Looking around, the front lamps were broken, the fence was missing pickets, the pool furnature was old and broken down and the beachside bar was unkept. The view, beach, and atmosphere however was gorgeous. When we walked into the lobby, all the furnature and architecture looked antique and midevil(very cool) yet there was only one light on. The check in process was horrendous. We waited 4 and a half hours just to get into our room. The room was huge and had a supurb view! There weren't many furnishings but the view made up for it. We were not satisfied with our beds at all. There were no covers on the box springs, soggy mattresses, and cigarette burns on the blankets. The plastic keys to our room were peeling and we needed to get new ones two times. The best part about the hotel was the staff. They were very personable, understanding, welcoming and friendly. They wanted to make sure you had the best experience available in the bahamas. They knew a lot about the island and were helpful with any resources we needed. They offered loads of hospitality when the town water went out three times in four days. Our experience at the Xanadu was far less than what we had expected. The ecomony is rough right now but if they want to keep business, they have a lot of work to do.

Best spring break hotel ever!
Spent March 2008 here and loved it. It was the best spring break ever. The hotel was sold out with college students. They had bonfire beach parties with live bands and D.J.'s on the beach at night. During the day you had water sports like banana boats, jet skis, and parasailing. Everything you could want is in walking distance like clubs and restaurants, shopping and the casino. Very very nice.

You will love it. It is superb. 8-1-08 to 8-7-08
I've been fortunate to be able to travel to many beautiful places in my life. This was the best of them all. The combination of natural beauty, activities, food, and friendly locals make for the perfect vacation. You will never run out of stuff to do here. It feels like they built everything around this resort using it as the centerpiece. No matter how long you stay, it's never long enough.

5-star location, 5-star hotel, 5-star vacation!
The hotel and location is 110% awesome! You would have to try really hard not to have the best vacation of your life here. It's paradise. Best destination I have visited. So much to keep you occupied during the day and night. Loved not taking cabs everywhere. Rooms and beach were very nice.

Top Notch Unreal Awesome Baby!!!!!
Spent 6 days here the last week of May 08 and it was really great. The beach will knock your socks off. You'll want to get out your camera the whole time you're there. Everywhere you look it's natural beauty. The hotel and our rooms were super nice. The beach area was the best I have ever seen. I was pleasantly surprised by how much nightlife they have at and around this hotel. There were all kinds of clubs and bars around the hotel. The temperature is perfect at night with a nice ocean breeze. We walked to everything. During the day there are all kinds of activities in the water like jet skis, parasailing, and bananna boats. Great place.

Paradise on earth. It's outstanding.
We vacation alot, and this is our favorite hotel and location. Once you walk out on that balcony and take in the ocean and gardens you won't want to leave. It's gorgeous. The rooms are very clean and nice, it's a short walk to everything and the activities they have going all the time are great. They have that straw hut bar on the beach like you see in all the movies. This is the one place that actually lives up to what you imagine it being like. It's the best.

"Simply the best, Better than all the rest"
Just got back, had a great time. It's paradise no question about it. The location couldn't be better. The food in the restaurants at the hotel were great. The beach was superb and the hotel itself was very nice. If we go back this is the only place I would stay.
