Nice view wouldn't go back
I definetly agree with the review that says the rooms are a little run down for a luxury hotel. I was also upset about this for a day or two I spent extra money to have a luxurious adventure the marriott would have been better. The beach is beautiful but the beach all around the hotel has a lot of rocks so it's not very good for swimming. Very nice pools though with slides they had arcades and nice restaurants. When we checked in they wanted to hold $450 for 10 days or we had to deposit 100 in cash. Long drive from the airport but nice view most of the way there. I had an average time but would not stay there again. The villa's seemed really nice though but if you are just staying in a room I wouldn't recommend it.

Stay out of your room
The rooms were run down and not updated to a typical luxury hotel standard. It took a while to get over it and enjoy the beauty outside of the room. The beaches and trails were miles long. The view was incredible as you woke up to a brilliant sunrise. My husband enjoyed the golf courses which were in good condition and almost had a hole in one. Ate quite a bit at the Palm Terrace and at the pool. Went to the Waikiki Beach and ate at the Hula Grill before going to the resort. As a family, we were there for only four days so one day we went to the Polynesian Culture Center and one day went to the Waimea falls (wear bathing suit!) and Haleiwa for shaved ice and Mexican food. The other days were for golf and relaxing around the beach and pool. We probably could have used another two days to go to the spa, horseback riding and the Dole plantation.

Not Good for Romance. Too Many Unsupervised Kids
I sent a letter to the manager on my return. He replied immediately. He stated that people liked the green walls and they were going to upgrade the roms. He also stated he would train his employees to supervise the kids. The fruit flies come standard with breakfast.

True Hawaii - Perfect place to vacation
Everything about Turtle Bay resort was perfect. Beautiful view from our room, lots of things to do and enjoy. Nice little towns to visit without having to deal with the crowd or traffic from Honolulu. Horseback riding, helicopter tours, surfing, tennis, golf, diving.....all available at the resort. Lots of open beach to enjoy and private as well. Doesnt get any better then Turtle Bay. My wife and I honeymooned here in 06. 2nd trip to Hawaii....1st trip we stayed in Honolulu in 05. Too crowded. Turtle bay was perfect in our eyes. We cant wait to go back

Overpriced! Ridiculous resort fee!
Even though I had prepaid through hotels.com they added a $20 per day resort fee to my bill. They said it was for tennis, internet access, and parking. We did not play tennis or use the internet and we had only one car but both rooms were charged the $20 per day fee. The food at Leilei restaurant was poor and way overpriced. Ola restuarant which is on the property but not run by Turtle Bay was good food at a reasonable price for a resort.

CHECK YOUR RESERVATIONS
WE WENT HERE AND THE HOTEL STAFF INFORMED US EVERYTHING WAS OKAY AND PAID FOR THROUGH OUR ONLINE TRAVEL COMPANY THEY EVEN HAD OUR INTINERARY AND INFO FROM THE COMPANY AND WHEN WE LEFT THEY TOLD US THE SAME THING. TURNS OUT THEY HAD NO IDEA WHAT THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT AND THE ONLINE COMPANY DID NOT PAY FOR IT. THEY CALLED US 3 DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS 3MONTHS AFTER OUR STAY ASKING FOR THE MONEY. I THINK IT COULD HAVE BEEN HANDLE DURING OUR 10 DAY STAY OR AT LEAST SOMETIME SHORTLY THERE AFTER. SIDE NOTE HOUSEKEEPING WALKED IN ON US MORE THAN ONE OCCASION. NICE HOTEL PROBABLY WOULD NOT GO BACK THOUGH BECAUSE OF THE WAY MANAGEMENT TREATED US.

Great Stay
This is what hawaii is all about if you have never been to Hawaii before or you are returning the north shore is the real Hawaii. the Turtle bay is a really nice hotel i stay in hotels all over the country every week and the staff were very friendly the rooms were clean and comfortable the beds were nice which for me is very important. The pool was nice and the water slide was fun and the only down side was the hot tub was a little small and the other one was under repair so we only had the one but the view was amazing we were on the 5th floor. we stayed for 2 nights we also stayed that the Halekulani and the JW Marriott Ihilani, over all we loved the Turtle Bay and the golf course was amazing as well.
