This modern building situated between Shakespeare's Birthplace and the Visitors' Centre, consists of a library and a records office. The library, devoted to Shakespeare, brings together two important collections that embrace all aspects of his work. This includes early editions and original copies (facsimiles of the latter are available for study). The library, which used to be part of The Royal Shakespeare Theatre, also houses the archive of the Royal Shakespeare Company, complete with records of all productions, copies of programmes and newspaper articles and a fascinating collection of photographs. Sound and video recordings of this great company are also available for viewing. The records office contains Shakespearean material of national importance together with a fine local history library (including local newspaper files from 1806) and a collection of prints, drawings and photographs relating to Stratford and Warwickshire. Admission: free to anyone interested in serious study

Shakespeare Heritage Trail (The) Ongoing
This is obviously one of the most popular walks in Stratford and is self-guided allowing you to go at your own pace. It starts at the Shakespeare Centre on Henley Street, from where you can pick up the Trail leaflet. The walk does not leave the confines of the town and should take between two and three hours to complete. All buildings of any importance to the Shakespearean era are passed, as well as any others with Shakespearean connections, including Nash's House and New Place, Hall's Croft and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. If you're a fan of the Bard this tour is a must.
