This waterfront development is one of the UK's biggest marinas and you never know who you might bump into in one of its seafront restaurants or cafes, especially during mega-events like the International Boat Show in September. The real attraction is sitting on the waterfront, looking at a forest of masts with a glass in your hand and recognising famous yachts and faces. There are also two cinemas, the Virgin multi-screen and Harbour Lights Picture House, as well as the SS Shieldhall, a fully operational steamship that berths at Ocean Village when it is not at sea.NYC Best Hotel Deals: 50% Savings In New York! Blue Funnel Cruises
Ongoing
See Southampton by sea by taking a cruise on the water. Blue Funnel cruises depart from Ocean Village and are a great way of discovering the South Coast, whilst enjoying a day out on the water. A varied range of tours are offered, from one hour dock cruises to half-day and full-day trips complete with commentary and entertainment. The Solent Special, which includes a stop over at Cowes, is highly recommended.
