Created to inspire scientific, technologic and artistic endeavours, this cultural centre inspires those who visit. The modern cylindrical architectonic design resembles a telescope craning toward the horizon. It houses the Museo de Ciencia, Arte y Tecnología (Museum of Science, Art and Technology) as well as an Omnimax system multi-plex theater for a colossal panoramic screen measuring 24-metres in diameter. There is a coffee shop and gift boutique.

The 'Planetario Alfa Lunes Astronomicos 2009' is an event held every Monday throughout the year, in the Centro Cultural Alfa Museo y Planetario. The lectures will be conducted by Pablo Lonnie Pacheco Railey, who is the head of the research and development Planetario Alfa. Come and get a chance to explore various topics in astronomy like stars, planets and constellations.
