Since opening in 1878, The Grand has staged an incredible range of performances and played host to some of the most famous names in theater. From ballet and opera, to stand-up comedy and drama, the Grand has been entertaining audiences with diverse tastes for over 100 years. In this time, it has developed associations with several esteemed companies; including the English National Ballet and Opera North. The Grand also stages a number of one-off performances. Standing its ground, despite the growing success of the West Yorkshire Playhouse, the Grand retains its traditional balconied interior and décor, giving it a historic character not present in modern establishments.
