The Grassmayr family has been making bells for fourteen generations. This museum charts 400 years of history and tradition. True to a long-standing practice in the craft, bells are still moulded out of clay, alloyed with minerals and then shaped into the final product. Grassmayr Bellmakers take over two months to make a large church bell. The museum gives a detailed account of the history and process of bell-making. To round off your visit, take a detour to the bell room. The magic tones of the bells is quite an experience, and you can also see the bell mechanism in action at close range.
