Iga Ueno is famous as an area where masters taught their special craft to the ninja under Tokugawa orders. Sandayu Momochi started the Iga-style school of ninjutsu (the secret art of invisibility of daimyo spies). To access the basement museum, you go through a traditional thatched-roofed house replete with intricate defense mechanisms. Besides trap doors, secret tunnels and invisible doors, other accouterments to thwart unwanted guests such as climbing aids, ladders, swords and clothing are on display.NYC Best Hotel Deals: 50% Savings In New York!
