Formerly called Lattara, the town of Lattes was once an important port. The findings from excavations in this ancient town are exhibited in the museum, which is part of the Regional Centre for Archaeological Documentation. The museum lets one travel back through the centuries by means of its collection of antiquities. The oldest items date from 3000 BC while others date from the Bronze and Iron ages. You can discover the history of the port which gradually declined, to the benefit of the town of Aigues-Mortes and in particular the city of Marseilles. Call for admission prices.
