The Trocadero is a Dublin institution. In operation since 1956, it is known as one of the city's most popular theatre restaurants. The walls are covered with photos of actors, and the atmosphere is cosy, crimson, comfortable, and occasionally dramatic. The food is elegant, with French influences and without pretension. As you'd expect, there is a very fine pre-theatre menu.

Trocadero
The Trocadero is favourite restaurant in dublin . The Food is excellent and the Atmosphere is great You can even get a table as late as 11 oclock . My only problem with it is sometimes you get the odd wannabe actor talking/swearing thinking this behavior will led to them being discovered ,This could potentially ruin the experience

My husband and I recently visited the Trocadero for a pre theatre dinner. I was very disappointed. We paid €90 for a very average meal for 2 with poor service. It started on entry - we were greeted by the waiter but completely ignored by the host. We had to ask for a second dinner menu - obviously they thought only one of us could read! My husbands starter - the brie - was good but mine - the roasted peppers had clearly just visited the microwave and were drowned in olive oil. The starters came out within seconds of us receiving our wine. No sooner had we finished the starters than the main course arrived. When we asked the waiter as to the reason for the rush he said "it wasn't his problem" - the kitchen had the food ready and he just delivered it "as far as I (he) am concerned you can sit here all night". The salad accompanying my main course had clearly been prepared about 2 days previously. All in all not the kind of attitude or food standards you expect in a restaurant for that price.

This is one of the "in" places in town....excellent food, service and staff. Ambient atmosphere plus the price of the pre evening meal makes it stand out from the crowd. Hurra for quality and excellence.
