Back to Governor's Mansion State Historic Park More fun then I thought it could be Im not the kind of person that rates anything highly, and visiting some old house would never make a list of "must do", but this one is. The house was very interesting on many levels. The guide we had (just 2 people in the group) was rhe most awesome guy for that tour, witty, funny, smart, historical, wonderfully warm. I wish I could remember his name...........I still laugh about his "Pardee girl line.
Reviewed by: Blane from on Apr 29 2009 Halloween Tour My husband and I did the Halloween Tour. We liked it a lot. The house was dark except for flashlights held by docents dressed in costumes and hallowwen lights and pumpkins. And there was even a body under Jerry Browns bed. LOL They had a fortune teller and a story teller outside. A great part of California history. I'd love to live in the house. Very cool to see the dining room where President Kennedy had breakfast with Pat Brown. It was worth the $5. Especially since they are remodeling and hope to open the 3rd floor in the future.
Reviewed by: Dragonfly from on Oct 26 2008 Governors Mansion I liked it very much it wasin my opinion very intresting. And not only that but i had won a essay contest at my school and i won an award from the mansion. Inside they have portrayed allthe recent winners on a wall. And surely you will find my name. Any way i loved it not only because i had accomplished something but i loved to learn more about there old life style and not any life style...the governors lifestyle
Reviewed by: Kitkatkate27 from on Apr 20 2008 Isn't it worth seeing? I went to this place first time this week and it is ok to visit. But they charge $3.00 for visit? even for kids?
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Dec 16 2007 It was ok The tour was fine but i found the place quite boring. I didn't realy conect to me i felt more like ok cool so this is where they lived, so how does this connect to me? The truth is that it dosn't its just a big house with a bunch of old furnature in it.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Oct 05 2007 interesting house I liked seeing where the governors used to live and what the wives did decorating-wise with the house. I went during a weekday and was the only person on the tour, which was very informative. Worth going to check out at least once.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jan 01 2005 The Old Governor's Mansion I've been to this several times, as I grew up in Sacramento. I even lived three blocks down in my college days. It's a nice, cheap tour, lots of fun at Christmas. And supposedly it's haunted!
