This walk is section seven of the Hong Kong Trail, a hike that runs across Hong Kong Island. Section seven extends along the coastline of Tai Tam Harbour, from which the low-rise apartments on the opposite Redhill Peninsula can be clearly seen. Along the walk itself, there are a few small villages. After an easy 7.5 km walk of about two hours, the trail leads to Shek O Road at To Tei Wan Tsuen and on to Shek O itself.
