Arizona's own pro baseball team opened on March 31, 1998. After a disappointing first season, momentum was gained and earned them the coveted title of Western Division Champions for 1999, unheard of for an expansion team in its second season. The turnaround of wins is the most dramatic in baseball's history. Managed by Buck Showalter, this team continues to be truly remarkable. Team colors are turquoise and copper. Games are held at the beautiful Chase Field in downtown Phoenix. Tickets range $4-$55 and may be purchased at the ticket office, open on non-game days 9a.m.-5p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9a.m.-5p.m. Saturdays. Game days it's open from 9a.m.-7th inning, 9a.m.-5p.m. (or 7th inning, whichever comes first) on Saturdays, and 10a.m.-7th inning on Sundays. Spring training is held at Tucson Electric Park, which is part of the Kino Veteran's Memorial Sports Complex. Spring training entrance fees run $3-$14 depending on location.
