Back to Amadeus Café Memorable and delicious anniversary My husband and I were leaving on a cruise late in the evening of our anniversary. We wanted to dine somewhere special - not on the ship. After some research on the internet, we decided on "Amadeus" in Old San Juan, which was within walking distance from the pier.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jan 04 2008 Twice Visited, Twice Enjoyed I liked that you could eat outside across the street and they would serve you at the outside tables. The food was great, service was great and the ambiance was fantastic.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Nov 28 2007 Awesome Food The food was excellent. My husband and I recently visited San Juan and accidentally stumbled into Amadeus. The appetizers were okay, but the food was out of this world. The skirt steak was juicy and cooked to perfection. The red snapper was very good sauted with peppers. Even the fries were really good. On to dessert, you have to try the coconut creme brulee... WOW! Not to mention the flan... unreal. We will defintely make a meal at amadeus a must on our next trip to PR.

The manager found us a fine large table in the back and he started bringing us water immediately. The menu was full of interesting things that managed to seem both local and cosmopolitan at the same time. My party was adventurous and the more adventurous we were the more we were surprised and delighted. The ladies all had wine but I went for the local beer, Modella, which was wonderful. Service was competent and friendly but since the place was full some things took a little time. We were in no hurry and the evening was great.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jan 26 2007 Would go back! This place is one of better restuarants I ate at while in San Juan. The food was excellent and it was reasonably priced and adequate. I had chicken breast stuffed with spinach, cheese and prociutto with sides of veggies and plantains, all for about $20. The service was really good as well and the waiters were attentive to the customers.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Dec 01 2005 Hmmm... enjoyed the scene not so much the food... I found the wait staff and the ambiance wonderful. My partner LOVED her meal and mine was so-so. (I had originally ordered the shrimp in garlic sauce but had to settle for the baked halibut in capers). I recommend you try a mojioto made from scratch from the bar. I can honestly say that I have never had such a scenic trip to the restrooms- the area is offset with an outside garden and fountains in an open air peek at the sky.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Mar 03 2005 Would return Good value for the money: pasta, spices, fish were fresh and prepared well. You will not feel rushed. Hint: ask about pictures of dishes in the menu. They may not be listed but available. I did - - excellent choice!
