Walk on to the dance floor at this gay, but straight-friendly, venue and your heartbeat will automatically begin jumping in time with the techno music that makes the walls vibrate. When you've had enough of dancing, you can retire upstairs to the friendly, quieter lounge area where you'll find seating. With a capacity of 150, it's certainly cosy — particularly since one of the dance floors is a narrow old bowling alley. The dim lighting, glow in the dark details and resident DJ adds atmosphere, while the late license ensures you can shake your thing until it's nearly dawn amid a lively, charged crowd.

Dissapointment
Myself and a friend went to Bristol for a weekend, and thought we would check out Castros on a Saturday night. We were utterly dissapointed to say the least. It was rather expensive entry at £10 each, and when we entered the dance floors, it was really empty. Throughout the night we were hoping the place would fill up, but it didn't much at all. The dancefloors were often empty, and there was no buzzing atmosphere from the crowd. The Staff were unfriendly, and most of the clubbers looked like they had just been dragged in off the streets, rather than making an effort for a night out. Having said that, the music was actually very good (hands up to you DJ's), and the UV decor was impressive. Overall, the music was very good, but the people were not, and the crowd is a major factor to a club and its atmosphere, therefore im having to give this club only one star.
