Back to InterContinental Presidente Mexico City Sept 27 to Sept 30 I liked the location and the view of Mexico City. Many good restaurants in and around the hotel. TWO Starbucks with excellent coffee and iced tea. Bed was large and very comfortable. Bathroom needed some work though. Rooms were also too hot. Overall, an okay experience.
Reviewed by: KSDisque from on Oct 01 2009 Cannot Recommend Polanco is a nice location for tourists with nearby parks, shopping, dining, and tourist opportunities. However, the management of the Presidente is living in the past. To consider internet service as an extra charge on an already very high rate is OUTRAGEOUS. And the charge is about $20 per day! Additionally, the hotel-related taxis are actually bandits. We were charged 100 Pesos for a ride from the hotel. The local taxi on the return trip cost only 15 Pesos. Adding in $7.00 to connect to a 1-800 number and over $0.40 per minute for local calls make this hotel and its concept of value a complete rip-off. The Presidente is part of the same corporation as Holiday Inn so I know that the modern concepts in lodging value are known. The only explanation is that the Presidente expects to have guests who are completely out of touch with normal travel values and those who are not responsible for earning the money they spend (trust fund babies and expense account corporate dinosaurs).
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Dec 29 2008 Horrible Service, best view of the city The employees here have no customer service training, well maybe by the KGB or something. The place has many restaurants, all overrated, overpriced-most with a seating fee (alfredo di Roma & Pie de Cauchon). THe only very good thing this hote has is the park view. SPECTACULAR! you will probably not find a better view of Chapultepec Park anywhere else. Everything else is 3 stars, but the view is 5 stars.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Nov 22 2006 Hidden costs I spent two days last week at your hotel. I requested a smoking room and they did not have a single ashtray, no floor mat at the bathroom, but worst, the "hotel Fee" of 15.00 US added to the daily rate. When making the reservation, this fee was never mentioned.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Mar 15 2006 First trip to Mexico City I recently stayed at the Presidente Intercontinental, Mexico City. My husband travels frequently to Mexico City on business, so I went with him for a week. While this hotel is good for the buisness traveller, it does not have a sundeck or even an outside courtyard for sitting and relaxing. Not everyone wants to stay inside all the time. There was a good variety of restaurants within the hotel complex and the food was good, but a little pricy for the amount of food that was served. I also did not get good service at the Tea Room. I had to ask for a napkin and a spoon and the server never returned to see if I needed anything. I found that I got much more attention when I was with my husband than when I was by myself. I know that I probably stood out from other business professionals being female, blonde and dressed like a tourist, but I was a paying customer. I was a little disappointed as I was not treated this way at the two previous hotels in the other towns we stayed that same week. I do travel frequently and never usually complain. This was my first visit to Mexico City.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on May 06 2005 Great Hotel, but don't stay there in the summer if you're menopausal! I loved everything about the hotel. The staff was friendly and courteous, the room spacious and clean. My only complaint was the "air conditioning". THey call it that, but it just blows air. I found this to be true in all the hotels in Mexico that I've stayed at. They either don't have air conditioning, or it just blows a room temperature air - not cool at all.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Apr 11 2005 Presidente InterContinental Mexico City This hotel is my favorite of everywhere I stayed in Mexico City. The modern amenities, bright, large rooms and courteous staff all added to my enjoyment. The front entrance lobby was beautifully decorated with a variety of plants and flowers and the outside pool and hot tub were fabulous. After a long day at the office, I had a wonderful evening relaxing in the hot tub, followed by a terrific mean pool side. Highly recommend!
